Tessa Theocharous
Principal Solicitor
Tessa obtained her Arts(Hons)/Law degree from James Cook University and after completing Articles of Clerkship in 2003 was admitted to practice in Victoria in 2004.

Tessa gained experience as a criminal defence lawyer in both private practice and the community legal sector before establishing Kurnai Legal Practice in 2008.
​
Tessa has represented her clients across all criminal law jurisdictions throughout Victoria and is a dedicated defence lawyer, fighting hard for her clients through every step of the Court process.
​
In 2016 Tessa achieved Accreditation as a Criminal Law Specialist.
Joshua Cameron
Solicitor LLB/LP

Josh started his career in Justice in 2007 as a trainee in the Magistrates' Court of Victoria and continued working in Justice at VCAT until 2010 where he commenced his Law studies at Flinders University. Whilst completing his studies, Josh worked in the Adelaide Magistrates' Court - Court Intervention Program.
After graduating in 2015 Josh began working as a criminal solicitor, also gaining experience in Child Protection and Family Violence jurisdictions.

Josh joined Kurnai Legal Practice in 2018 and is a passionate criminal defence lawyer.
James Cameron
Solicitor LLB
Graduated from Deakin University in 2018. Admitted to Practice in 2019.
James been a part of Kurnai Legal Practice since 2015 where he commenced as a Legal Assistant whilst completing his studies at Deakin University. In 2017 he employed in the Paralegal position. Tessa moved his admission in 2019 at which point he commenced as a solicitor.

Peter Hood
Managing Consultant at Kurnai Legal Practice and Member of the First Peoples Assembly of Victoria for the South East Region, Peter is a proud Kurnai man with connections to Yorta Yorta, Bangerang, Taungurung and Wurundjeri ancestry through his Mum, and traditional ties to Gunditjmara through his Dad. For the past 14 years, Peter has been working as a managing consultant specialising in Indigenous justice and policy through the Kurnai Legal Practice.

Angela Frazzetto
Paralegal

Angela has an Associate Degree is Legal Practice and is also currently completing a law degree.

Angela is a crucial part of the Kurnai Legal team and works closely with our clients to support them throughout their matter.
